Zoran Dobric

I'm kind of digging Zoran Dobric's unstructured, ill-fitting clothing. The clothing did not exactly float down the runway but the hard pounding 80's electronic music blaring in the background as the models fiercely pumped down the runway warmed my heart. He makes his own fabrics as well, which are fantastic.

his site is http://dobric.tripod.com/

One of my favorite pieces. I am in love with the fabric and the dress. I think a woman of any size could pull this off, which has a lot to do with the tuff fabric, it is very forgiving. Then the dark nylons, my total weakness in woman's apparel.
This type of bag skirt is something to look out for. I would recommend holding out on the animal print if your not a size 2, but the puffed out skirt and over-sized accessories are perfect.
I know this picture is less then perfect but the pants are what I want everyone to see. Yes, everyone, skinnies are on their way out, wide leg pants are heading in.
Love this dress it has an almost vintagey feel. Would wear it everyday if I owned it...well maybe if it were more of a scoop neck. The emphasized waist line is great for showing off curves, the satin skirt and the wide arms are great for adding a bit of flair.

These last two pictures are of my favorite model. Okay fine you caught me, his name may be Jussi and he may just be a good friend of mine, but that's besides the point. Zoran did a pretty good job at dressing his men. The second look does it more for me, but I had to add them both of course.

Travis Taddeo

Travis Taddeo studied at College LaSalle in Montreal and it just so happens that I know someone who studied with him there. Personal 'connections' aside I thought his collection was still a little immature. I liked some of the clothes I just didn't totally get some of them either. Why have random blue patches on everything? I guess as a connecting mechanism, but I really don't think that connections should be that obvious or electric blue. Also I've never been a fan of black and white together, I know that may sound weird but it's kind of euro-trash to me.

What he does do well though is a skirt showing of a ladies behind. Each skirt looked amazing and I would like to find a black mini by him because I know that it will hug my curves nicely. A black mini with black tights, one of my fav combo's and Taddeo did it nicely is his collection.

To see more of his collection go on to his site (the site is really nice actually),
http://www.travistaddeo.com/collection_w.html

Black mini, looks hott. Any woman could pull this off.
This, I'm convinced, would also work so well on curvy women.

Not a fan of the top but love the skirt.
He had an extensive men's collection, yet this was the only outfit that appealed to me.

Personal Highlights

What I am going to be posting for the next few days is my personal highlights from LGFW. I took all of these photos myself. So, yes, that means I sat in a sea of cameras, romantically known as 'the pit', and wrestled my way to a spot where I could see the models and snapped as many pictures as I could. 'The pit' is exciting, scary and exhausting, I would only recommend the experience if you don't mind being elbowed in the face or squished between strange men (and yes most of them are men because it seems to be a male dominated industry). I may write commentary on my experience in the next week or so if I can get my thoughts organized.

Also, I am aware that most of the photos may not be of the best quality, but I really did try, and you can see the progression of quality as the shows go on. I was not able to make it to all of the shows (because of an upsetting camera incident that if you follow me on Twitter would have heard all about), therefore I am mainly going to talk about the shows that I attended.

Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy my take on LGFW (the good, the bad and the ugly).

LGFW-people coming together

Rosey Edeh- I feel like a total fool but she is one of the hosts of ET Canada, and I didn't even know it at the time. I don't have cable so I guess that excuse is good enough. Anyway, Rosey was enjoying LGFW with her beautiful daughter. Her coat is Rick Owens.

Micha-Her coat was bought in LA from Nicola Burt, it is a perfect cut on her. I'm not usually a fan of coats with pattern, but alas I am proven wrong once again. Micha was young and bubbly, the coat fit her personality as well as her age perfectly.
Jordan Porter (left)-Who is a fashion editor for one of my favorite magazines of all time, FASHION Magazine. Again didn't know who she was until i did a little google'ing. Wearing a Chanel jacket and a Maram Keyhani necklace.

Maryam Keyhani (right)- A jewelry maker in Toronto (http://maryamkeyhani.com/) is wearing a shirt from Fawn on Queen St. I did a little google'ing again and her jewelery is amazing.
Michelle-Pants are Stella McCartney, bag Louis Vutton and jacket is a vintage find.
Tim- Strutting H&M.

Deirdre (up top) is strutting a beautiful green coat from Sirens and boots from Winners.

Andrew & Evan (bottom picture). I found these two laughing men at Younge & King. Although they may have posed with serious faces for me they were all smiles and laughing the whole time they were waiting for the street car. Andrew got his black tailored coat from a sample sale, Evan got his coat from H&M and his amazing camel shoes from Paul Smith.
